We are currently recruiting for an experienced Counselling Lecturer

To deliver Level 4 and Level 5 counselling programmes within a Further Education setting.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, learner-focused teaching across Level 4 and Level 5 counselling programmes, supporting students to develop their theoretical knowledge, practical counselling skills and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Level 4 and Level 5 Counselling programmes.
  • Plan and deliver engaging classroom and workshop-based sessions.
  • Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners with their academic and professional development.
  • Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Ensure delivery meets awarding-body and curriculum requirements.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive learning.

Requirements

  • Relevant Level 5 counselling qualification or equivalent.
  • Counselling teaching/lecturing experience, ideally within FE or adult education.
  • Experience delivering Level 4 and/or Level 5 counselling qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of counselling theory, skills and ethical practice.
  • Relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience of assessment and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and learner-support skills.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
