Protect what matters most by helping us detect and reduce internal fraud risk across the firm.

In this role, you’ll turn complex data and behavioral signals into clear risk insights and practical actions. You’ll partner closely with teams across compliance, investigations, and employee relations to strengthen controls and drive timely mitigation. If you’re analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated by mission-critical work, this is an opportunity to make measurable impact.

As a Counter Fraud Senior Associate in Counter Fraud (International Consumer Bank), you’ll help detect, analyze, and assess behavioral and technical indicators of potential internal fraud. You’ll support the triage of monitoring alerts, produce contextual analysis and risk assessments, and help deliver scalable detection and mitigation solutions. You’ll work with partners across the firm to escalate concerns appropriately and strengthen the control environment while adhering to privacy, legal, and data handling requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Triage and analyze alerts generated by internal monitoring use cases and document findings clearly in case management systems.
  • Compile contextual case narratives and evidence-based assessments using multiple internal data sources.
  • Produce data-driven risk assessments while adhering to legal, privacy, and data handling requirements.
  • Escalate potential suspicious activity and coordinate referrals for investigation with appropriate partners.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to drive timely containment and mitigation actions.
  • Monitor relevant internal and external intelligence for notable insider events and emerging patterns.
  • Contribute to trend analysis, lessons learned, and continuous improvement of detections and controls.
  • Translate observed patterns into detection hypotheses, playbooks, and control recommendations.
  • Improve detection coverage and reduce false positives by supporting strategic enhancement initiatives.
  • Communicate complex findings succinctly through written products and stakeholder briefings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
