Role Overview

We are looking for a Counter Sales Assistant to join our team in Portadown. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is looking to develop a career within the food retail industry.

Working within a busy retail environment, you'll play an important role in delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining product quality and supporting the day-to-day running of the store.

Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour

Key Duties

  • Providing excellent customer service, offering product advice, recommendations and product knowledge.
  • Preparing meat products and maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
  • Ensuring counter and pre-pack areas are maintained to the highest hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Carrying out stock rotation, price reductions and product sampling activities.
  • Receiving deliveries and completing associated paperwork accurately.
  • Supporting store promotions, merchandising activities and general housekeeping duties.
  • Assisting with colleague training and providing support to the management team when required.

Ideal Candidate

  • A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales targets.
  • Good understanding of relevant food retail procedures and legal requirements.
  • Able to support, motivate and work effectively alongside colleagues.
  • Confident taking responsibility and supporting the Store Manager in their absence.
  • Flexible, organised and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to work independently and use their own initiative.
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the trade.
