Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) UK & Ireland business at a really exciting time for the division. We are recruiting for a confident, experienced senior leader, to join us as Country Manager to lead the Heart Failure division across UK & Ireland. A second-line leader, you will have responsibility for sales revenue, profitability, and market growth within the HF teams across all product areas.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand the dynamics of the market relevant to each product area, identify opportunities to grow market share;
  • Develop and document strategic objectives and translate into operating plans to grow sales and profit in line with agreed company targets;
  • Develop and execute market growth activities in line with overall strategy and to improve market access for Abbott HF technologies;
  • Contribute to building and leading a high-performance organization (the role includes distributor management) to deliver HF operating plans by hiring, training, coaching, and developing people; use a participative leadership style to encourage ownership and enthusiasm; provides support and feedback to the team, addressing performance management issues or any training gaps urgently;
  • Communicate the sales vision, strategy, and objectives appropriately, encouraging collaboration and teamwork;
  • Provide all market information, forecasts, business reports, and information flows as required by senior management;
  • Develop high-level engagement with external decision influencers; KOLs, reference centers, procurement, and trust/hospital management;
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including Market Access, HE&R in order to develop local execution plans to accelerate access for non-reimbursed HF technologies;
  • Support the strategic/Operating Plan process and utilize to develop relevant organizational design, sales plans, etc.;
  • Sales process effectiveness – ensure relevant sales tactics are planned for each account and participates in sales visits with the customer account owner/sales management to support goals, coaching the field team;
  • Budget management – regularly re-evaluates performance against forecasts and budgets and takes timely action to meet agreed targets.

What you’ll need:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally within the devices industry
  • Prior experience on pathway/therapy development
  • Demonstrated experience of controlling a budget
  • Results orientation, problem solver
  • Decisive decision maker
