About the Role
We are looking for an accomplished Landscape Architect, Landscape Designer and Higher Education academic to lead the development and delivery of a new MA Landscape Design at Camberwell College of Arts.
This is an opportunity to establish an ambitious new postgraduate course that positions landscape as a research-led, socially engaged and environmentally responsible design practice.
The course explores the relationship between the natural and built environment, asking how landscape can contribute to more sustainable, resilient and equitable futures. Students develop advanced design practices through a combination of research, critical enquiry, environmental thinking and studio-based design.
The 180-credit, 12-month MA progresses through three stages: Discover and Define; Define and Develop; and Develop and Deliver. Students develop individual research-led practices, culminating in a complex landscape design project supported by critical reflection, design experimentation and professional engagement.
You will lead a curriculum bringing together landscape architecture and design, urbanism, ecology, environmental systems, technical and digital practices and professional knowledge. Students will work with landscape architects, researchers and built-environment professionals and undertake field and site-based learning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
