Course Description: EDEA 407-001 / EDEC 404-001
Descriptions:
- EDEA 407: Professional competencies and final preparation of professional portfolios will be addressed. Summary of philosophical, theoretical, and practical issues related to the profession of teaching.
- EDEC 404: Preparation for the final field experience and entry into the teaching profession. Emphasis will be placed on developing the ability to demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behavior in the performance of duties across all professional competencies. Final transition to showcase working professional portfolios will be addressed.
This course is not Team Taught or offered online.

- A Master's degree (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered);

Experience:
- Experience teaching in elementary and/or secondary schools;
- Expert knowledge of course content
- Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP)
- Familiarity with the professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation
- Previous successful teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers.
- Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school system
Other:
- A commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors
- Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date
