EDEA 472-001. Methods in Music Education 2
Description:
Preparation for Fourth Year Field Experience. Includes the study of music curriculum content and instructional approaches, classroom management issues, lesson planning and program development for elementary and secondary schools. Relevant professional competencies will be addressed, developed and assessed.
This course is not Team Taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)
Education:
Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e. Music Education) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school music teacher
PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Musical concepts, skills and vocabulary
- Teaching approaches related to music education
- Creative lesson, unit and assessment planning and musical materials for the classroom
- Previous experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level and/or equivalent relevant teaching or professional experience.
- Experience as a music/instructor teacher in the Quebec educational system
- Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation
