Description:
EDEC 247: The organization of Quebec education, including Indigenous education, from historical, political, social, cultural and legal perspectives. The implications and contributions of policy decisions to schools, students, and families.
EDTL 607: Structure and organization of education in Quebec considered from historical, political, language, social, administrative and legal perspectives. Enables students to contribute to the educational system in their roles as leaders of educational thought and change. All addressed through the development of professional competencies.
This course is not Team taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)
Education:
- Master educator with a minimum completed Master’s degree in a relevant field; PhD preferred.
- A teaching degree or equivalent
Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of course content.
- Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
- Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
- Previous experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset.
- Experience teaching in the Quebec school system.
Other:
- Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.
- Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.
- A commitment to working collaboratively in planning and delivering the course, to achieve l’approche programme (as mandated by CAPFE)
