- Course Code and Title: EDEE 273-004. Elementary School Science 2
- Description: Elementary Education: A study of science programs and teaching strategies appropriate for providing elementary school children with an appreciation of the nature and method of science inquiry.
- Language: This course is taught in French. A high level of proficiency in French and ability to teach in French are required.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)
Education
- MA in a relevant field (i.e., science education) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educator
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
Experience
- Expert knowledge of:
- Elementary science pedagogy, as outlined in the course description
- Research on elementary science pedagogy
- Research on elementary students’ scientific thinking and practice
- Experience as a master teacher/instructor science, mathematics, or a related field in the Quebec educational system
- Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)
- Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation

- Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate level
- Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
- Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
- Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
- Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
- Familiarity of and/or experience with the practice-based pedagigies in science teacher education is an asset
Other Information
- Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.
- Must be available to attend course coordination meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.
