EDEE 283-004. Social Studies Pedagogy.
Description:
Programs, materials, and strategies for social studies from Kindergarten through grade six.
This course is not Team Taught or offered online.
Please note: This is a PIF (Pédagogie de l'immersion Française) course - Excellent proficiency in French, oral and written, is required as the course is taught in French.

Teaching Qualification Requirements
Education:
- Master educator with an MA (i.e., social studies education, social studies teaching and learning) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/teacher/pedagogue
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
Experience:
- Experience as a master k/elementary teacher/instructor with knowledge of:
- Quebec’s educational program
- Quebec’s social studies program at the elementary school level
- The teaching and learning of social studies (history, geography, and citizenship education)
- Elementary teaching and learning theory/methodologies
- Sound instructional techniques

Other:
- Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate level
- Experience as a master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system is an asset
- Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
- Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
- Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
