Course Code and Title

EDEM 637-001. Managing Educational Change.

Description

Explores conceptual approaches to managing school improvement and organizational change with applications such as conflict management, action planning, coaching, shared vision-building and problem solving. Uses relevant case studies to bring theory into practice.

This course is not Team Taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

Education

  1. Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e., educational leadership or school administration) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school leader.
  2. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset.

Experience

  1. Expert knowledge of managing educational change particularly in the Quebec context.
  2. Experience as a school administrator, institutional leader in the Quebec educational system.

Other

  1. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level.
  2. Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion.
  3. Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.
  4. Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset.
  5. Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
