Description: The impact of globalization on educational institutions, processes, and practices. Topics may include the politics of change, teachers' work, educational reform, technology, environment, educational management, and leadership. This course is not Team Taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

Education:

  1. PhD in Educational Studies (i.e., Globalization, Educational Change, Higher Education, Non-formal learning, or related field of study)
  2. Master educator with a minimum completed MA degree in a relevant field (i.e., Globalization, Educational Change, Higher Education, Non-formal learning or related field of study) and/or extensive relevant and demonstrated experience as an educator in the area of globalization in education

Experience:

  1. Expert knowledge of:
    • Key theories that apply directly to globalization
    • Impact of globalization for knowledge production, teaching, learning, health & social change
    • Transnational interconnectedness and communication
    • Migration and globalization
    • Youth movements and the transnational history of youth movement
  2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level
  3. Experience as a master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system is an asset

Other:

  1. Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  2. Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and Professional Competencies
  3. Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom, and/or other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
  4. Familiarity teaching blended classes
  5. Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
  6. Instruction in this course may be delivered remotely if indicated as required by the university
