Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)
Education:
- PhD in relevant fields (e.g., international development, education, sociology, or related interdisciplinary fields). Exceptionally, a completed master’s degree with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong grounding in theories of development and their intersections with education in global contexts.
Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Major theories and paradigms in development, including modernization, dependency, postcolonial, decolonial, and alternative development approaches.
- The historical and ongoing relationships between education and development, including colonial and postcolonial dynamics.
- Global and local education issues in development contexts, including inequality, access, policy, and systems change.
- The role of education in addressing social, economic, and political challenges.
- Contemporary issues in global development and their implications for education.
- Experience teaching or facilitating learning in international, comparative, or development-focused education contexts.
- Experience engaging students in critical analysis of theory and application to real-world cases.
