Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

Education:

  1. PhD in relevant fields (e.g., education, sociology, cultural studies, or related interdisciplinary fields). Exceptionally, a completed master’s degree with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
  2. Strong grounding in theories of multiculturalism, diversity, and education in Canadian and global contexts.

Experience:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • Theories and critiques of multiculturalism, interculturalism, and diversity, particularly in Canadian and Quebec contexts.
    • Anti-racist, decolonial, feminist, and critical approaches to education and social difference.
    • Cultural, linguistic, racial, and religious diversity as lived and institutional phenomena in education.
    • The role of identity, culture, and power in shaping educational experiences and outcomes.
  2. Experience engaging students in critical analysis of theory and its application to policy, practice, and lived experience.
