Description: Professional and ethical practices as novice teachers. Case study approach of topics include: identity, professional competencies, contributions to education, professional organizations, digital technology integration, and professional development.
This course is not Team taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)
Education
- Master educator with a minimum completed master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Teaching degree and certification, or equivalent.
- Strong grounding in teacher development, reflective practice, and equity-oriented approaches to teaching and learning.
Experience
- School-based teaching experience in secondary schools, preferably in Quebec.
- Experience supporting teacher candidates in field experience and/or internship contexts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Professional and ethical practices in teaching, including responsibilities, standards, and professional judgment.
- Teacher identity development and the transition from teacher candidate to novice professional.
- The Québec Education Program (QEP) and professional competency frameworks relevant to teacher education.
- Case-based pedagogies for examining professional dilemmas, ethical issues, and practice-based decision-making.
- Professional roles and contributions in education, including engagement with professional organizations and ongoing professional development.
- Integration of digital technologies in teaching and professional practice.
- Professional portfolios and repository documentation as tools for competency development and future professional learning.
- Experience teaching or facilitating learning in teacher education and/or professional seminar contexts.
- Experience supporting teacher candidates in reflecting on and developing professional identity and competencies.
- Experience facilitating discussion-based, reflective, and relational learning environments involving complex or sensitive professional issues.
