Course Description

Creating and using media for learning. The course reviews audio-visual education (text, visuals, audio, video, and augmented reality), media and information literacy for K-11, higher education, and society, and how data are represented and used in education and research in different disciplines. The rationale and underlying principles for the design, production and effective use of media are emphasized.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

  • Education: PhD or PhD Candidate in Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, or equivalent
  • Experience: Relevant experience in the design, application, use and evaluation of media in an array of educational contexts. Experience in college/university teaching or research on this subject or professional experience in the use of educational media.
  • Other: Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field.
