Newark Golf Club is one of Nottinghamshire's most respected members' golf clubs. Our beautifully maintained 18-hole, par 71 parkland course enjoys an excellent reputation for year-round playing conditions, complemented by a modern clubhouse, comprehensive food and beverage facilities, a 15-bay driving range and ongoing investment in course development and machinery.

As we continue to invest in the future of the Club, we are seeking an ambitious and experienced Course Manager to lead our Greenkeeping team and drive the continued improvement of the golf course and wider estate.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary Range: £45,000 to £48,000
  • Contracted hours: forty per week
  • Employer pension contributions: 3%
  • Holidays: 20 days + 8 bank holidays
  • Professional Fees: Annual BIGGA Fees paid
  • Subsidised food: on duty

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the golf course, driving range, and estate. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding course presentation, agronomic programs, managing budgets, and capital projects, developing your team, and ensuring the Club continues to deliver an exceptional golfing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance and presentation of the golf course to the highest standards
  • Develop and implement modern agronomic and turf management programs
  • Manage the Greenkeeping team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance development
  • Oversee irrigation, drainage, machinery, estate maintenance, and environmental initiatives
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets and capital investment programs
  • Deliver strategic course improvement and sustainability projects
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental, and legislative requirements
  • Build positive relationships with members, suppliers, contractors, and the wider management team

This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact at a progressive club committed to ongoing investment in machinery and course development.

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years greenkeeping experience, with supervisory responsibility
  • NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management
  • PA1, PA2, and/or PA6 pesticide application certificates
  • Experienced in managing budgets and maintenance-related finances
  • Reside within a 60-minute travel distance of the venue or willing to relocate
