About the Role

We are seeking an organised individual to fill the role of Course Team Leader for Beauty Therapy. You would teach across a range of programmes and be responsible for the effective curriculum management of a range of programmes in the Section, focusing on full-time Beauty (City and Guilds) and Commercial courses. You will also supervise a team, develop the curriculum and will be the Lead for IQA and Assessment Health Checks.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • Qualified to Level 4 in Beauty Therapy
  • Assessor award and Level 4 IQA qualification
  • Full (minimum Level 5) teaching qualification recognised by the Further Education Sector
  • Experience of working in the Beauty industry including experience of Laser treatment
  • Experience of teaching Level 2 and/or Level 3 and Level 4 Laser, Holistic Therapies, Advanced Body Electrical Treatments and Advanced Epilation such as skin tag removal, Telangiectasia treatments, Milia removal, Spider Naevi treatment, Laser and light for Hair removal and Skin Rejuvenation

Main Scope of Post

The Course Team Leader will teach across a range of programmes and be responsible for the effective curriculum management of a range of programmes in the Section, including ongoing curriculum development and implementation of new commercial courses in response to employer and market needs and full-time courses in line with current curriculum requirements.

It is essential that the postholder has experience of Teaching the L2 and/or L3 and L4 Laser, Holistic Therapies, Advanced Body Electrical Treatments and Advanced Epilation such as skin tag removal, Telangiectasia treatments, Milia removal, Spider Naevi treatment, Laser and light for Hair removal and Skin Rejuvenation. Industry experience of Laser treatment is essential.


Commercial courses

The course Team leader will be responsible for the recruitment of learners, oversee the quality of Teaching and Learning, claiming for certification, arranging IQA and Awarding Body compliance and to staff the following courses that run on a part-time basis.

  • Beauty Therapy short courses.
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Needling (V4A1UD)
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling (V4A2UD)
  • VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (V4CLAD)
  • Bridal and Special Occasion Make-Up (BSOMUE)

Qualifications

  • Qualified at Level 4 in Beauty
  • A full teaching qualification (minimum Level 5) recognised by the Further Education sector (e.g. DET)
  • GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Assessor qualifications (A1/TAQA or equivalent)
  • Internal Verifier qualification (Level 4 IQA or equivalent)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of working in the Beauty industry
  • Teaching and assessing experience in Beauty
  • Experience of teaching L2 and/or L3 and L4 Laser, Holistic Therapies, Advanced Body Electrical Treatments and Advanced Epilation such as skin tag removal, Telangiectasia treatments, Milia removal, Spider Naevi treatment, Laser and light for Hair removal and Skin Rejuvenation
  • Experience of curriculum co-ordination and development
  • Experience of organising and implementing quality systems and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of learner attendance and achievement
  • Experience of team working and preferably some experience of leading a team
  • Industry experience of Laser treatment
