Anna Freud is seeking a part-time, 7 hours per week Course Tutor to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families. Our mission is to close the gap in wellbeing and mental health by advancing, translating, delivering, and sharing the best science and practice with everyone who impacts the lives of children, young people and their families. What you’ll do

As the Course Tutor, you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of Year 1 teaching, particularly practical and skills-based workshops.
  • Facilitate small-group sessions where trainees develop their clinical skills through discussion and application of case material.
  • Mark assignments in line with UCL requirements and participate in calibration to ensure consistent assessment and feedback.
  • Provide personal academic tutoring, respond to trainee queries, monitor progress and help ensure an inclusive and supportive learning experience.
  • Work closely with the Programme Director, Course Tutors and wider programme team to maintain and develop the quality of the programme.

What you’ll bring

You will be an experienced mental health professional with strong clinical expertise in working with children, young people and families, alongside experience of teaching, supervision and supporting learners within a postgraduate or professional training environment.

  • Hold a recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, with clinical training in evidence-based therapies for children and young people.
  • Have extensive experience using CBT-informed approaches with children, young people and families, including neurodivergent young people, within CAMHS or a similar setting.
  • Have experience providing group supervision or facilitating reflective spaces for professionals working in children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing services.
  • Have experience teaching or training adults, alongside experience of assessing and marking coursework.
  • Be able to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, support university students and colleagues, manage competing priorities and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Key details

  • Hours: 7 hours a week. Must be available to work on Thursdays during term-time.
  • Salary: £53,570 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.
  • Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).
  • Contract type: Permanent.
