Court of Protection Paralegal

📍 King’s Lynn / Heacham

💼 Full-time | Permanent

💰 £28,000 - £35,000

We're working with an established legal firm, looking to recruit a Court of Protection Paralegal to join their established Private Client team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous Court of Protection or Deputyship experience to develop their expertise within a supportive and experienced legal environment, working closely with Lawyers across a varied caseload involving vulnerable clients and their financial affairs.

The Role

We are seeking a Court of Protection Paralegal to provide support across a range of Court of Protection and Personal Affairs matters, assisting Lawyers with the administration and progression of Deputyship matters and ongoing Court of Protection work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Lawyers with a varied caseload of Court of Protection and Personal Affairs matters
  • Supporting with the administration of Deputyship matters and ongoing Court of Protection work
  • Assisting with the preparation of Court of Protection applications, reports, correspondence and supporting documentation
  • Liaising with clients, family members, Deputies, professional representatives and other relevant third parties
  • Assisting with the management and administration of financial affairs for vulnerable clients
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and monitoring key deadlines
  • Preparing and organising documentation for Court of Protection applications and ongoing matters
  • Assisting with financial records, accounts, budgets and other administrative requirements associated with Deputyship work
  • Communicating with the Office of the Public Guardian and other relevant organisations where required
  • Providing general administrative and case management support to the wider Private Client team

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within Court of Protection, Deputyship or related Private Client work and be confident supporting matters involving vulnerable clients.

You will have:

  • Previous experience working within Court of Protection, Deputyship or related Private Client work
  • A strong understanding of Court of Protection procedures and the requirements involved in managing the affairs of vulnerable clients
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • The ability to work effectively alongside experienced Lawyers while also managing tasks independently
  • Previous experience within a Private Client legal environment would be advantageous
