Purpose of the Role

To provide fee-earning and administrative support to the Court of Protection Team, assisting with the effective management of Deputyship and Power of Attorney matters, while progressing towards handling elements of a supervised caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist fee earners with case management
  • Draft routine correspondence and documents
  • Prepare Office of the Public Guardian annual reports
  • Maintain and update case files
  • Liaise with clients, families and third parties
  • Support financial administration and reporting
  • Progress routine elements of cases under supervision
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and confidentiality
  • Record time accurately and support billing processes

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous legal or paralegal experience
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems

Desirable:

  • Court of Protection or Private Client experience
  • Experience of OPG reporting
  • Law degree or working towards qualification
