Court of Protection Senior Associate Solicitor (6+ PQE) - Hertfordshire - Competitive Salary + Benefits + Bonus
A leading Legal 500-ranked law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor to join its highly regarded Private Wealth team in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate Solicitor to join a Tier 1-ranked Private Client practice, advising on complex and sensitive matters for individuals, families and professional contacts across the South East and London.
Joining a well-established and respected team, you will play a key role in advising clients on a broad range of Court of Protection and lifetime planning matters. The department has built an outstanding reputation for delivering practical, compassionate advice and is trusted by families, business owners and vulnerable individuals to provide support on some of life's most important decisions.
The team continues to grow and has recently been appointed to a Court of Protection panel of professional deputies, reflecting its expertise and standing within the market. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside recognised specialists whilst further developing your profile within a collaborative and ambitious practice.

The Role:
- Managing a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters
- Advising clients on deputyship applications and ongoing deputyship management
- Handling complex Court of Protection applications
- Advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney and Enduring Powers of Attorney
- Supporting vulnerable clients and their families
- Advising on capacity issues and long-term planning arrangements
- Working closely with professional advisers and third parties
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development and networking initiatives
- Contributing to the continued growth of the Court of Protection practice
The Candidate:
- Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years' PQE
- Strong experience in Court of Protection matters
- Excellent technical knowledge of deputyship, capacity and mental capacity legislation
- Experience advising vulnerable clients and their families
- Strong client care and communication skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to practice development
- Excellent organisational and case management skills
- A collaborative and empathetic approach
- STEP, SFE or other relevant qualifications would be advantageous
