Cover Supervisor Secondary School in Braintree
Start Date: September 2026 | Full-Time | Long-Term
Are you a confident, organised and committed Cover Supervisor ready to make a meaningful impact in a thriving Braintree secondary school? Ribbons & Reeves are supporting a high-performing, inclusive school seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their supportive teaching and pastoral team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cover Supervisor with experience working with young people, who thrives in a structured, student-centred environment and is eager to contribute to a school with strong values, high expectations and a positive community ethos.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain focused and engaged
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
- Support students with their learning and encourage positive participation
- Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff
- Provide feedback to teachers on student engagement and behaviour where appropriate
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold its values

The Ideal Cover Supervisor
The school is looking for a Cover Supervisor who is:
- Must hold a 1st-Class or 2:1 in their relevant degree
- Confident and composed when managing a classroom
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- An excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with young people
- Experienced working with secondary-aged students (essential)
- Consistent and confident in managing behaviour
- Motivated, reflective and eager to develop professionally
- A positive team player who contributes to school life
