A fantastic Secondary School in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is looking to appoint a confident and personable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across KS3-5, gaining exposure to a variety of subjects, year groups and classroom environments.
The school is looking for someone who can confidently step into the classroom, deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain engaged, focused and on task. You'll work closely with experienced Teachers, Heads of Department and the wider pastoral team, making this an ideal stepping stone for anyone considering Teacher Training in the future.
What will this Cover Supervisor role involve?
- Supervising classes across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5 in the absence of the class teacher
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of Secondary subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations throughout lessons
- Ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused and completing the work provided
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required
- Providing additional academic support and intervention for pupils who require it
- Working closely with Teachers, Heads of Department and the wider pastoral team
- Developing strong classroom management, communication and leadership skills
- Gaining invaluable Secondary School experience ahead of potential Teacher Training

JOB DESCRIPTION
Cover Supervisor
Secondary School - KS3-5
- Supervising and delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
- Whole-class classroom responsibility
- 1:1 and small-group academic support
- Behaviour management and maintaining high classroom expectations
- Excellent opportunity for aspiring Secondary Teachers
Full-Time position
Daily Rate: £120 - £140 per day
Monday - Friday - School Hours
Located in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Degree educated or strong academic background preferred
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Confident, enthusiastic and personable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent behaviour management potential
- Ability to build positive relationships with Secondary-aged pupils
- Must be resilient, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom
- Genuine passion for education and supporting young people
- Aspiring Secondary Teachers are strongly encouraged to apply
