We are seeking a dedicated, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join Lift Four Dwellings Secondary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play a vital role in ensuring high-quality learning continues during teacher absences.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a familiar and trusted adult in our school community, supervising lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining positive behavior, and supporting students to stay focused and engaged in their learning.
This role would suit someone considering a future career in teaching, education, youth work, or pastoral support, as well as experienced Cover Supervisors seeking their next opportunity.
Your New School

Your New Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students continue learning in a safe, calm and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Supervising classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences
- Delivering lesson materials prepared by teaching staff
- Leading super cover alongside a second member of staff
- Maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment
- Supporting students to stay on task and complete work to the best of their ability
- Supporting students with SEND and helping to implement EHCP and IEP targets where appropriate
- Recording attendance accurately and reporting any concerns
- Providing feedback to teachers regarding student progress, engagement and behavior
- Liaising with pastoral teams regarding student welfare concerns
- Supporting wider academy activities, including student supervision and enrichment opportunities
You will work closely with teaching, SEND and pastoral teams to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.

We are looking for someone who:
- Holds GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications
- Has experience working with children and young people
- Can build positive and productive relationships with students
- Has strong behavior management and communication skills
- Is calm, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced school environment
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Has excellent organizational skills and can manage competing priorities

Job Details
This is a fixed-term position working 32.5 hours per week, from 8:15am to 3:15pm, until 31 August 2027.
