Requirements

  • Previous experience working with secondary youth (e.g., tutoring, coaching, youth work, or TA roles).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teenagers.
  • Confidence with classroom management and handling low-level disruption assertively.
  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness).

Key Duties

  • Supervise high school classes (KS3 and KS4) during short-term teacher absences.
  • Deliver pre-set work and learning instructions provided by the department.
  • Maintain strong classroom control using the school's positive behaviour policies.
  • Keep students focused and on-task throughout each lesson period.
  • Collect completed work and report back to the subject department head.
