Cover Supervisor Opportunity at Emmanuel Middle School
Emmanuel Middle School is seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to supervise and support pupils in learning activities during short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual teacher, across the school.
About the Role
We seek to appoint a person who is enthusiastic, well-motivated, and can work as part of a team. Applicants should be committed to the promotion of high expectations in teaching and learning, behaviour, and be willing to support the Christian ethos of the school. The successful candidate should have the necessary skills to be able to take charge of a sole group or class of children, engaging and supporting them in their learning and managing their behaviour to ensure a constructive learning environment in line with the school’s policies. Ideally, we would be looking for someone qualified to a degree level (or equivalent) and who is looking towards teaching as a career. We will provide relevant training and experience to enable the successful candidate to successfully begin teacher training within 2 - 3 years, which makes this an incredibly exciting opportunity.
Salary
Actual Salary: £18,724 - £19,635 per annum (Grade 6)
Job Details
- Part Time - Term Time Only
- 30 hours per week and 39 weeks per year
- Permanent basis
- Approximate start date: 18-Oct-2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

Safeguarding
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
