Cover Supervisor Southampton
Thinking about getting into teaching but want real classroom experience before committing to a PGCE or Teacher Training? This Cover Supervisor role in Southampton is the perfect launching pad. You'll gain hands-on, paid experience managing classrooms, supporting students, and experiencing secondary school life from the front of the room—all while working school hours with no evening marking or lesson planning.
Responsibilities
- Classroom Management: Supervising classes across various subjects during the short-term absence of regular teachers.
- Delivering Work: Ensuring students complete work set by subject teachers in a productive, safe environment.
- Supporting Students: Answering questions, keeping pupils focused, and managing behaviour in line with school policies.
- School Community: Assisting with registration, break duties, and supporting general school activities where required.

Qualifications
- Degree educated (recent graduates are strongly encouraged).
- Strong communication, confidence, resilience, and organizational skills.
- An enthusiastic, adaptable approach with a genuine interest in working with young people.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness for one).
Job Summary

- Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (Term Time Only)
- Pay: Competitive daily/hourly rate
- Contract Type: day to day supply
