Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for classes when the usual classroom teacher is unavailable.

Lessons and resources will already be prepared, meaning your responsibility is to deliver instructions, manage the classroom and ensure students remain focused and productive.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience the realities of teaching without immediately committing to formal teacher training.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Managing classes of approximately 20–30 pupils
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour
  • Ensuring students complete the work provided
  • Answering questions and providing academic guidance
  • Supporting individual pupils who require additional help
  • Delivering occasional small-group interventions
  • Providing feedback to classroom teachers
  • Supporting school events and extracurricular activities
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

Previous School Experience Is Beneficial But Not Essential.

More importantly, you should be confident, resilient and comfortable speaking in front of groups. You'll need a strong personality, professional approach and the ability to establish expectations with students from the moment you enter the classroom.

An Excellent Route Into Teaching

For graduates who are unsure whether teacher training is the right next step, a year as a Cover Supervisor can provide invaluable experience.

You'll develop practical skills in behaviour management, lesson delivery, communication and classroom leadership, giving you a major advantage if you progress into teacher training.

Strong performers could have the opportunity to progress into an Unqualified Teacher or salaried teacher-training position for September 2027.
