Location: Ravensthorpe Road, Dewsbury WF12 9EE
Hours: Full-Time - 31.25 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 5 days, 8:30am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,171 - £28,334
Job Description
Ravenshall School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Cover Supervisor to work in our “Exceptional School” (Ofsted, 2024).
Our outstanding special school caters for pupils aged 4 – 19 who have learning difficulties and a wide range of complex needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly effective team of Cover Supervisors. Applications are invited from candidates who have a mainstream background as well as those currently working within a Special Education setting, as we offer high quality in-house support and CPD for successful candidates joining our forward-facing school.
If you are passionate about improving students’ life chances, have experience of working with children who have a wide range of special and complex learning needs, alongside having the skills to teach pupils in meaningful and engaging way, then we would like you to hear from you.
The role will provide cover supervision for absent teaching staff, delivering set work, managing behaviour and working closely with other colleagues in the classroom including ETAs and other support staff.

Additionally, the successful candidate will undertake the full duties of supporting students in class groups, individual 1:1 programmes and intervention sessions, mentoring and specialist tuition.
We are looking for a colleague who shares our vision of “all different, all equal, all important” and will promote high standards in all aspects of school life. You should have expertise and experience of working with children and young people who have SEND and can confidently support teaching staff and students to improve their educational and social potential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate effective questioning techniques, creative teaching methods suited to the needs of pupils with SEND and support students to undertake a varied range of learning activities suited to their learning needs.
It is anticipated that the successful candidates will work across all phases and subjects.
