Cover Supervisor - SEND Provision - Luton
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Pay: £125 per day
Contract: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Setting: Secondary SEND Provision
Luma Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Luton, working within its SEND provision.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or education professional who would like to develop their experience supporting pupils with special educational needs and additional learning needs.
The school offers a positive and supportive environment, with a strong focus on relationships, individual needs and pupil wellbeing. Working with smaller groups and a more personalised approach to learning, the role would suit someone looking to move away from the demands of a busy mainstream classroom.
About The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher, while providing a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities
- Supporting secondary-age pupils with SEND
- Working with smaller groups and individual pupils
- Managing behaviour positively and consistently
- Building strong relationships with pupils
- Supporting engagement and confidence
- Following lesson plans and adapting activities where appropriate
- Working closely with teachers and support staff

The Ideal Candidate
We would like to hear from experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants and education professionals who are confident working with young people.
Previous SEND experience is advantageous, but candidates with strong mainstream experience who are keen to develop within specialist education are also encouraged to apply.

You'll Ideally Be
- Experienced working with children or young people
- Confident managing behaviour
- Patient, calm and adaptable
- Comfortable supporting pupils with additional needs
- Able to follow lesson plans independently
- A reliable and positive team player
