An Opportunity with the Outpatient Reception and Booking Team
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Outpatient Reception and Booking Team based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancaster.
About the Role
You will be joining a well-established team, in a purpose-built facility, receiving and responding to telephone calls and queries from patients, GP’s, and Hospital staff in relation to outpatient appointments.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for mutually agreeing an appropriate date and time with patients for them to see a clinician in an Outpatient setting.
- Previous administration and customer service experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Training
A full training package will be available to support the start of your Administration career in the NHS. You will be working with highly confidential information.

Working Hours
There are part-time and full-time opportunities available. The Reception service is open from 8:30 am to 5 pm, five days a week. There may be a requirement to work flexibly to support the needs of the service, and there is also the opportunity to work occasional weekends.
Our Locations
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

- A range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)

Westmorland General Hospital (WGH)
- A range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
Services Provided
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
