Role Description
The CPCS Lift Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role, based from home but with travel throughout South of England. You will be responsible for overseeing safe lifting operations on construction and industrial sites. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Supervising crane and lifting teams
- Coordinating with site management
- Ensuring that lift plans are followed in line with legal and company standards
- Conducting pre-lift checks
- Monitoring site conditions
- Managing communication between crane operators and ground personnel
- Stopping work if safety is compromised

The Lift Supervisor will maintain accurate records of lifting activities, report incidents or near misses, and contribute to toolbox talks and ongoing safety briefings. The position requires proactive problem-solving, adherence to method statements and risk assessments, and support for continuous improvement in lifting practices.
Qualifications
- CPCS Lift Supervisor qualification and demonstrable experience supervising crane and lifting operations.
- Strong understanding of lifting regulations, safe systems of work, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Proven ability to coordinate teams on site, communicate clearly via radio and face-to-face, and give precise lifting instructions.
- Good situational awareness, hazard identification skills, and commitment to stopping work when safety is at risk.
- Experience working in construction, civil engineering, or industrial environments with cranes and associated lifting equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret lift plans, site drawings, and technical information related to loads, radii, and ground conditions.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work to schedules while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to local and regional sites as required.

Additional certifications such as CSCS card, first aid, or health and safety training (e.g., SSSTS) are desirable.
