About the role

BAMCT is looking for an experienced CPCS / NPORS Plant Tester to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a growing training provider, we're looking to bring our testing capability further in-house and reduce our reliance on subcontract testers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tester to become a key member of the team and play an important role in the continued development of our training and assessment operation.

You'll be working from our training site, carrying out practical plant assessments and tests across a range of equipment, while working alongside our instructors and wider team to provide a professional, efficient and high-quality service to our customers.

We're looking for someone who is technically competent, professional and approachable, with a strong understanding of plant operations and assessment standards.

The role

Your primary responsibility will be the delivery of CPCS and NPORS testing and assessment in a safe, fair and professional manner.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting CPCS and NPORS practical tests and assessments
  • Ensuring assessments are carried out in accordance with the relevant scheme requirements and standards
  • Preparing plant, equipment and assessment areas for testing
  • Maintaining accurate assessment and candidate records
  • Providing clear and professional feedback to candidates
  • Working closely with our instructors and administration team to coordinate assessments
  • Ensuring plant and assessment areas are safe, suitable and ready for use
  • Supporting the smooth running of the training centre
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with customers, candidates and employers
  • Keeping up to date with relevant changes to CPCS, NPORS and industry requirements
  • Helping to maintain the high standards that BAMCT expects across its training and assessment provision

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
