Role Description
The CPCS Plant Trainer role is a part-time position responsible for delivering high-quality plant operator training and assessments in line with CPCS standards. The trainer will conduct classroom-based instruction, practical on-site training, and competency assessments for learners operating a range of construction plant and equipment.

- Preparing training materials
- Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate training records
- Providing constructive feedback to support learner progression
This is a hybrid role based in the Greater Liverpool Area, with some training and administrative duties carried out at the centre or client sites, and some planning, reporting, and documentation tasks performed from home.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a plant operator and/or trainer, with current CPCS (or equivalent) cards and certifications relevant to plant machinery operation.
- Strong knowledge of construction site practices, health and safety legislation, and risk assessment procedures related to plant operation.
- Ability to design and deliver structured training sessions, including lesson planning, practical demonstrations, and learner assessments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse learners, provide clear instruction, and offer constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills for managing schedules, training documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Relevant trainer/assessor qualification (e.g., A1/TAQA, teaching or training certificate) is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with basic digital tools for remote work, including email, online document management, and virtual communication platforms.
- Flexibility to work across different training locations in the Greater Liverpool Area and to balance on-site and work-from-home responsibilities.
