The Team

The Knowledge Exchange Office connects York St John University's expertise with businesses, public sector organisations and communities. Through knowledge exchange, partnerships, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Executive Education, the team supports the University's ambition to deliver meaningful impact and create opportunities for growth.

The Role

We are seeking a confident, commercially aware CPD and Executive Education Manager to support the growth of Executive Education across York St John University. Reporting to the Head of Executive Education, you will manage a portfolio of opportunities from initial enquiry through to delivery, helping to develop high-quality CPD, short courses and bespoke programmes that meet employer and professional learning needs.

Acting as a key link between strategy and delivery, you will work with academic Schools and Professional Services colleagues to assess opportunities, develop proposals, support pricing and costing activity, and coordinate programme development. You will also contribute market insight and intelligence to support portfolio growth and future opportunities.

This is a varied role requiring excellent people skills, commercial awareness and the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Experience of managing projects, programmes, partnerships or business development activity, with the ability to progress complex work from concept through to delivery.
  • Experience of developing services, programmes or solutions in response to customer, stakeholder or employer needs.
  • Effective relationship builder with strong communication and influencing skills, able to engage confidently with senior leaders, academic colleagues and external partners.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, evaluating opportunities and balancing customer needs with operational, academic and financial considerations.
  • Experience of contributing to budgets, developing pricing or costings, monitoring financial performance, or supporting income-generating activity.
  • Experience within higher education, professional learning, Executive Education or a related sector would be advantageous.

It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview and candidate assessment. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a two-page marketing plan for a proposed Executive Education programme and present their plan to the interview panel. Further details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
