CPE Engineer
Location: Remote
Company: ISPX
About ISPX
ISPX builds modern software for broadband service providers. We're looking for a CPE Engineer to help us build and test the systems used to provision, manage and troubleshoot broadband devices at scale.
The Role
You'll work across broadband CPE, device management and network integration. A big part of the role will be understanding how different routers and gateways behave in the real world, integrating them with our platforms, and making sure they work reliably across different vendors and firmware versions. You'll work with industry standards including but not limited to:
- TR-069 / CWMP – remote CPE provisioning and management
- TR-369 / USP – modern device management
- TR-181 – broadband device data models
- TR-143 – broadband performance diagnostics
- TR-471 – IP-layer performance measurement
- IEEE 802.11 – Wi-Fi
- DHCP / DHCPv6 and IPv6
- Other relevant Broadband Forum, IEEE and IETF standards

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
