Description
About the team and what we do
Case Preparation and Presentation (CPP) is a multidisciplinary team responsible for preparing and presenting cases to the NMC’s Fitness to Practise Committee, ensuring fair and timely outcomes. We also advise on and manage High Court interim order applications and appeals, playing a key role in protecting the public and maintaining confidence in the professions we regulate.
Your role and impact
You’ll join a large, supportive team of lawyers and paralegals who value collaboration, professional growth and high‑quality legal work. You’ll review and prepare fitness to practise cases, conduct advocacy before our practice committees, and handle High Court interim order extension applications across UK jurisdictions. You’ll also have opportunities to work on PSA and registrant appeals. Your expertise will directly shape the quality and robustness of our regulatory decisions.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced UK‑qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a strong track record in professional regulation and advocacy. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
