Quality Assurance Officer

To undertake quality assurance activities within the Central Packing Unit (CPU), ensuring compliance with established packing standards, procedures and quality requirements. The post holder will monitor performance, conduct audits and inspections, identify areas of non-compliance, and provide appropriate feedback to staff to support continuous improvement.

The role is responsible for accurately recording, analysing and reporting quality assurance findings to inform service improvement initiatives and, where necessary, to support formal capability, performance management or disciplinary processes. Through the provision of effective quality assurance and oversight, this role contributes to maintaining the integrity, availability and reliability of operational equipment, ensuring that staff have access to the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time, with a high degree of assurance and confidence in its readiness for use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assurance of product quality and patient safety.
  • Monitoring the accuracy and reliability of packing processes to ensure equipment, consumables and operational pouches are available for staff use and meet required standards.
  • Performance indicators include reductions in packing errors, monitoring of incident trends, effective management of product recalls, and evidence that identified issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
