Job Description: CRADLE Project Manager
The University of Manchester has recently established the Manchester Centre for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and is a recognised lead in the development of robots for extreme environments, particularly nuclear. The CRADLE Project Manager will be located in Manchester to support the recently awarded EPSRC Prosperity Partnership: Centre for Robotic Autonomy in Demanding and Long-lasting Environments (CRADLE). CRADLE is a collaborative programme with Amentum involving approximately 20 researchers from The University of Manchester and a similar number of engineers from Amentum. The primary aim of CRADLE is to develop novel technologies that will allow autonomous robots to be reliably deployed in demanding environments, such as space, nuclear and urban infrastructure, for long lengths of time.
Responsibilities
- Provide project management services and support to the ongoing research activities within the CRADLE programme as well as the wider robotics group in Manchester.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholder engagement, particularly with external stakeholders.
- Facilitate technology demonstrations and ensure a professional approach to working.
- Support the facilitation of research and technical demonstrations at Amentum’s facility in Birchwood.
- Contribute to the writing of high-quality publications on experimental activities.
- Take an active role in the dissemination of research.
