Craft Gardener required for our public sector client

3 x depots

  • Knighton Park Depot
  • Evington Park Depot
  • Abbey Park Depot

A full driving licence is essential

Working Hours:

  • Mondays to Thursday: 7.30 - 3.30pm with half hour unpaid lunch.
  • Fridays: 7.30 - 3.00 with half hour unpaid lunch.

Key Job Activities:

  • Maintain horticultural features on green infrastructure, Parks, Housing and Highways land
  • Prepare and maintain sports features, including artificial surfaces
  • Maintain hard landscape features, including buildings
  • Develop new hard and soft landscaping features
  • Operate and maintain hand and mechanical specialist equipment used in the maintenance of features.
  • Drive and operate a tractor
  • Prepare and apply chemicals e.g. herbicides, fungicides, insecticides etc
  • Keep sites clean and tidy
  • Provide advice and support to customers using the facilities
  • Complete routine paperwork
  • Report any issues identified to the Team Leader
  • Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role

  • Experience in either horticulture or groundsmanship
  • Experience of working directly with customers
  • Experience of using horticultural specialist equipment and chemicals
  • Qualification in horticulture, groundsmanship or ecology
  • Formal training in horticulture, groundsmanship and/or ecology
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety issues relating to area of work and HASWA
  • Valid driving licence
