Position/Title: Craftsman Mate

Reporting To: OSM Manager


Roles and Responsibilities:

Taylor & Fraser OSM is seeking reliable and motivated Semi-skilled labourers to join our growing off-site manufacturing team. The successful candidates will assist in the fabrication and assembly of structural frames used in the manufacture of high-quality modular pipe systems for data centre projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a modern manufacturing environment with ongoing training and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fabricate Unistrut and Hilti modular support frames from engineering drawings.
  • Measure, mark out and prepare materials for fabrication.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist skilled fabricators and welders during production.
  • Drill, grind, deburr and prepare components for assembly.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organised and safe.
  • Follow company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment accurately.
  • Competent using hand and power tools.
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good timekeeping and reliability.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable (not Essential)

  • Experience in steel fabrication or modular construction.
  • Ability to read basic fabrication drawings.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Abrasive Wheels certification.
  • Manual Handling training.
