The Role and Responsibilities

EnerMech have a permanent vacancy within our Lifting Solutions department for a Crane Operator Mechanic. This role is for a 5th week resident, and is based on an FPSO in the North Sea. You will be tasked with carrying out first line maintenance up to and including 6 monthly Planned Maintenance Routines and ensuring Crane integrity is maintained in accordance with client's maintenance standards. Other main duties and responsibilities will include;

  • You will be the Resident Crane Focal Point on the FPSO, with primary responsibility for all crane operation and crane maintenance activities on the asset.
  • You will be tasked with carrying out first line maintenance up to and including 6 monthly Planned Maintenance Routines and ensuring Crane integrity is maintained to current legislative, corporate and manufacturers recommendations.
  • Operating the cranes for onboard and offboard lifting activities
  • Carrying out fault finding and enacting repairs to ensure crane uptime
  • Carrying out planned maintenance routines ensuring spares & resources are planned and organised in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy worksite
  • Completion Crane Operator daily log, trip reports and enter data into maintenance management system
  • Acting as the EnerMech offshore focal point / representative
  • Raising permits within client Permit to Work system, and acting as permit holder for flying squad maintenance visits
  • Inducting EnerMech flying squad personnel to the asset, providing familiarisation for incoming crane operators
  • Upholding EnerMech and Client values & high standards, and ensuring visitors adhere to those same values & standards
  • Additional duties as required by the asset - including Lifeboat Coxswain and Helideck Emergency Response Team Member

The requirements

We are looking for the following:

  • Committed to achieving an incident free workplace, and take a no-compromise approach to safety
  • Confident to speak up and ‘stop the job' should you encounter any unsafe conditions or working practices
  • Able to work independently on maintenance activities, and be pro-active in resolving issues / defects
  • Able to work closely within multi-discipline lifting and maintenance teams
  • Organised and experienced in completing maintenance reports, ensuring all results are recorded and documentation is completed thoroughly
  • You will hold a stage III Offshore Crane Operator certificate, with valid and up to date Stage III assessments. You will also hold a recognised apprenticeship or maintenance / mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Experience of operating on FPSOs is preferred.
