The company provides plant and crane hire services to a wide range of industrial, construction, and infrastructure projects. Sangwin Plant Hire is known for operating and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment to support safe and efficient site operations. Team members work in a practical, hands-on environment where equipment reliability and customer service are central to success.

Role Description

The Crane / Plant Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston Upon Hull, responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing cranes and other plant equipment within the company’s fleet. Daily tasks include conducting inspections, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, and carrying out corrective repairs to ensure equipment is safe and compliant. The role involves working in the workshop / Yard and occasionally on customer sites, completing service reports, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with supervisors and operators to plan maintenance around operational needs. The Crane / Plant Fitter also supports safe lifting operations by ensuring cranes and associated equipment are properly set up, tested, and ready for use.

Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Trained to NVQ L3 or equivalent in Plant maintenance, HGV mechanic or similar
  • Minimum: 2 Years Plant fitting (preferred) or 3years + HGV mechanic
  • Hydraulic Experience preferred.
  • Electrical systems experience required.
  • Driving Licence required/ cat C licence preferred but not essential.
