Lloyds British, part of the Speedy Hire Group, are looking for an experienced and motivated Crane Engineer to join our growing team.
Our specialist Engineers provide a reliable, responsive and high-quality service across the UK, supporting customers with the inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of cranes and associated lifting equipment.

What you’ll be doing
As a Crane Engineer, you’ll work across a range of customer sites, providing technical support and ensuring crane equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Carrying out inspections, servicing and maintenance of cranes and associated lifting equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing repairs and remedial work where required
- Carrying out load testing and functional testing
- Inspecting crane components and lifting accessories
- Identifying defects and providing recommendations for corrective action
- Producing accurate inspection, service and maintenance documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures
- Providing technical advice and excellent customer service
- Working independently across customer sites while maintaining strong communication with the wider team

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with strong technical ability, a practical approach and experience working with cranes or lifting equipment.
Essential Or Desirable Requirements Include
- Experience working with cranes, lifting equipment or associated mechanical systems
- Experience servicing, maintaining or inspecting crane equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- LEEA qualifications or relevant industry experience desirable
- Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical NVQ/City & Guilds qualification desirable
- Experience working within a testing, inspection or service environment
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Full UK driving licence
- Commitment to supporting the business ESG strategy – “Decade to Deliver”
Full training and development will be provided, including opportunities to undertake manufacturer and specialist technical training.
