Purpose of the job

This role is for a talented Art Director / Designer with a strong background in shopper marketing, retail and experiential creative. Working across a portfolio of leading brands, including clients in the technology and automotive sectors, you’ll help shape creative ideas and visual experiences that connect brands with people at the moments that matter.

From retail environments and shopper campaigns to activations, events and integrated brand experiences, you’ll take projects from initial idea through to final execution. You’ll work closely with copywriters, designers, producers and account teams to create work that is visually distinctive, strategically relevant and effective in the real world.

You’ll join a growing creative team working where brands and people meet; in stores, at events, in physical spaces and across screens. It’s an opportunity to create ideas that don’t simply look good in a presentation, but live in the real world and are seen, touched and experienced by millions.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and define the creative and visual direction for shopper, retail and experiential campaigns within HH Global
  • Create strong concepts that translate brand strategy into compelling customer and shopper experiences
  • Lead the design development of key campaign assets across retail, in-store, eCommerce, digital, social, OOH and experiential channels
  • Understand shopper journeys and use key moments and touchpoints to inform creative thinking
  • Design for physical environments, considering how ideas live in-store, at events, within activations and across branded spaces
  • Partner with the wider team to develop integrated ideas that drive engagement, consideration and conversion
  • Oversee the art direction of photography, film and content, from pre-production through to final delivery
  • Collaborate with 3D designers, motion designers, production teams, photographers, directors and external creative partners
  • Adapt creative ideas intelligently across different formats, channels and retail environments
  • Champion creative craft, ensuring every visual detail meets the highest standard
  • Present creative ideas and rationale confidently to internal teams, clients and senior stakeholders
  • Work closely with Creative Leads to turn brand and shopper strategy into relevant, contemporary creative work
  • Manage and mentor junior designers, encouraging curiosity, collaboration and creative ambition

  • A strong conceptual thinker with a refined design sensibility and a passion for visual storytelling
  • Significant experience in shopper marketing, retail, experiential and brand activation
  • A strong understanding of shopper journeys, path-to-purchase and the role creative plays in influencing behavior
  • Experience creating work for physical and digital retail environments
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong integrated campaign, shopper or experiential work for major brands
  • Experience directing photography, film or content shoots
  • A good understanding of brand systems, digital-first design and motion principles
  • Able to balance brand storytelling with clear, persuasive shopper communication
  • Comfortable working from structured briefs and within fast-paced creative and production environments
  • Confident presenting creative ideas and rationale to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Expert with Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with motion and 3D design tools is an advantage
