Creative Arts Therapist (CAT)
National Online School | Great Minds Therapy Team
Starting Salary: £50,000 - £56,100 per annum
Location: Remote, based within the National Online School
Contract and hours: Permanent, full time (Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm)

Working nationally across the UK and internationally, the team delivers specialist therapy, expert training and strategic support to help education settings address diverse needs and improve outcomes. Services for ages 9–25 include Creative Arts Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy, with a focus on communication, emotional regulation, independence, confidence and engagement. Through accredited CPD, tailored staff training and a clinically designed whole-school inclusion framework, Great Minds helps embed sustainable, inclusive practice. The organization partners with education settings at each stage of the inclusion journey, from early intervention to whole-school development, to create environments where children and young people feel understood, supported and able to thrive.
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and creative Creative Arts Therapist to join our growing therapeutic team at Great Minds Therapy & Training, providing specialist assessment and intervention to children and young people accessing education through the National Online School (NOS).

This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist who is passionate about using creative and expressive approaches to help children and young people communicate, process experiences, build emotional resilience and re-engage with learning.
You will provide specialist creative arts therapy assessments, formulations and interventions remotely, working with pupils with complex needs, including neurodiversity, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), trauma and adverse childhood experiences. You will hold your own caseload and deliver individual and group interventions tailored to the needs of each young person.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral colleagues, families and the wider multidisciplinary clinical team, you will help create a therapeutic online environment where pupils feel safe, understood and able to thrive.
Essential requirements to be successful in the role:
- Hold HCPC registration with a recognised Creative Arts Therapy degree qualification (e.g. Art Therapy) and further professional development accreditations.
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to children and young people, SEND, safeguarding, sensory processing, communication, regulation, trauma-informed practice or therapeutic education.
- Experience of working with children and young people with SEND, SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, communication needs, sensory needs, trauma histories or other barriers to learning and participation.
- Experience of delivering assessment, intervention, advice and consultation within education, community or specialist settings.
- Confidence working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and contributing to shared plans, risk discussions and safeguarding processes.
- An interest in helping to shape new projects and adapting clinical practice to different settings and service models.
