About The Role

We are seeking a talented and innovative Interim Creative Designer to join our busy communications team on an 8-week contract basis. This role is designed to provide sickness cover, offering an excellent opportunity for a creative professional with a keen eye for detail and a strong passion for digital design and visual storytelling. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content across digital and print channels, supporting various corporate communications, campaigns, and organizational priorities.

The Creative Designer will manage projects from conception through to delivery, ensuring all outputs are visually compelling, accessible, and aligned with the organization's branding standards. This role requires excellent collaboration skills, as you will liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, including designers, printers, photographers, and copywriters. Acting as a brand guardian, you will uphold the company's visual identity and ensure consistency across all creative materials.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in a creative design role, demonstrating proficiency in digital and print media. A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including graphics, infographics, animation, and video content, is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of graphic design principles, branding, and accessibility standards. Experience working within large, complex organizations or politically sensitive environments is highly desirable. Additionally, excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a proactive approach to staying current with industry trends are important attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality creative content and materials for online and offline channels, including graphics, infographics, animations, videos, and multimedia assets.
  • Support key communication campaigns and organizational activities through compelling visual storytelling.
  • Create digital-first designs optimized for web, email, and social media platforms.
  • Ensure all creative outputs adhere to the company's branding and accessibility guidelines.
  • Provide expert design advice and consultancy to colleagues and management, enhancing overall communication efforts.
  • Manage multiple design projects, including developing briefs, setting schedules, and overseeing workflows to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with external vendors such as printers, photographers, illustrators, and copywriters to meet project requirements.
  • Support reputation management by identifying and advising on design-related issues that could impact public perception.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in digital communications and visual content creation.
