Creative Director & CEO

£42-45K (dependent on experience)
Full Time, Permanent

Marketplace Arts is looking for an ambitious, inspiring, and creatively curious Creative Director & CEO to lead our organisation into its next chapter.

This is a rare opportunity to take the creative and strategic lead of an established, community-led arts organisation with the freedom, ambition, and potential to shape what comes next.

For more than 10 years, our Arts Council England Creative People and Places (CPP) programme has challenged the ways in which culture is created, experienced, and shared. Working across seven market towns in Fenland and West Suffolk — Brandon, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Chatteris, March, Whittlesey, and Wisbech — we put communities at the heart of our work, working alongside artists, partners, and local people to create ambitious, high-quality cultural experiences in places where access to the arts has historically been limited.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
