Creative Director – Commercial Office Interiors
London
£130K/£150K plus comms package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Creative Director to join one of the UK’s leading commercial workplace design businesses.
This is a senior creative leadership position for someone who can set the design vision, inspire a talented team and play a key role in winning and delivering high-profile workplace projects.
The successful candidate must have a strong background in commercial office interior design, gained within either a workplace Design & Build studio or a leading architectural/interior design practice.
The Role
The Creative Director will take a leading role across the business unit, providing creative direction from the earliest stages of a project through pitches, concept development and design delivery. Working closely with senior leadership, design, pre-construction and client teams, they will help shape the creative identity of projects while ensuring the business continues to produce innovative, commercially relevant and highly considered workplace environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing creative leadership across major commercial workplace projects.
- Setting and maintaining a consistently high standard of design across the studio.
- Leading the creative direction of pitches, competitions and key client presentations.
- Developing compelling workplace concepts that respond to the client's brand, culture and business objectives.
- Working closely with clients to understand their ambitions and translate them into strong design narratives.
- Mentoring, developing and inspiring Interior Designers and senior members of the creative team.
- Challenging design thinking and encouraging innovation across the studio.
- Collaborating with technical, pre-construction, commercial and project delivery teams.
- Supporting new business opportunities and helping the business differentiate itself creatively in competitive pitches.
- Acting as a senior design ambassador for the business unit with clients, consultants and the wider workplace industry.

The Ideal Candidate
They are looking for an established senior design professional who combines exceptional creative ability with strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills. Applicants should have:
- Extensive experience designing commercial office/workplace interiors.
- A background within either Office Design & Build or a recognised architectural/interior design practice.
- Experience operating at Creative Director, Design Director, Associate Director, Principal or similar senior level.
- A portfolio demonstrating high-quality, concept-led commercial workplace projects.
- Strong experience leading pitches and presenting design concepts to senior clients.
- The ability to develop a clear creative vision and bring other designers on that journey.
- Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- An understanding of how outstanding creativity needs to work alongside programme, budget and buildability.
- A genuine passion for workplace design and where the commercial office sector is heading.
